Vital Tips Considered In Refrigerant Recovery

By Mia Kent

Before conducting refrigerant recovery, it is necessary to have the following tips in mind. They will help you in ensuring that the process is conducted faster. The first tip is having a clear understanding of the operation of the system you are about to recover. Considering the type and the size of the system is also important. This is necessary for the purpose of preparing. The type and the size will enable you to prepare the necessary equipment as well as the right method which will be effective to you.

The first step entails removing the liquid and any vapor out first. The liquid and the vapor are removed from the bottom access ports where the liquid normally accumulate in. If the liquid is not removed, then the recovery process will be slower as compared to when they are removed.

Hoses and valves also play a significant role in the process. The size and the length of the hose affect the speed. The system with a larger hose will reduce the friction on the flow of the refrigerant hence increasing the speed of the process.

The lesser the friction, the faster the speed of the process. It is also advisable to use a short horse. If the horse is long, the pressure will decrease hence also making the process to take long. The Schraeder valves should also be removed first before starting the process.

It is important to protect the interior of the system from any dirt and dust. A filter is therefore used to make sure that the interior is protected. It is normally placed at the port to filter in what is getting into the interior of the refrigerator. It is advisable that each time the process is done, a new filter is used. This is also to make sure that the interior is fully protected.

Interior of the system must also be kept clean. Any dirt and dust must not be allowed to get inside. This is because the dirt and other inferior objects are likely to destroy the interior of the refrigerant. A filter is normally used especially at the inlet port in order to achieve this objective. Use of new filter is always recommended each time the process is done.

The first method involves the application of the pressure differential. The pressure differential is used to eliminate the liquid from the system. It is created by the recovery machine. It is also important to note that this method is best for use in bigger systems with receiver tanks. The use is however not recommended for systems with reversing valve. This reason also demonstrates the importance of identifying the type as well as the size of the system before indulging on the process.

Liquid method on the other side is preferred for using in systems which do not have oil compressors. It is also preferred where the system is capable to recover the liquid. On the other hand, vapor method entails using an additional hose. The additional hose is placed in between the machine for recovery and the storage tank. The vapor is then passed through the added hose then it is being cooled after passing through the compressor. Therefore it is important to note that the methods are suitable to be used in different systems. The above tips are essential in carrying out refrigerant recovery.
